BCRC Medical Weekend
Over the weekend of July 17-18 we held our Medical Weekend in the Forest of Dean at the Gloucestershire Cave Rescue Group base.
Medical officers from cave rescue teams from all over the UK, together with representatives from mountain rescue teams attended what turned out to be a nice warm, sunny event. Which was lucky as due to COVID considerations many of the activities and talks were held outdoors with attendees following social distancing guidelines. Presentations that had to be indoors took place in the large garage with the big doors open.
Our medical volunteers range from first aiders to highly experienced doctors, and this weekend was all about collaboration, learning, sharing ideas and testing new equipment.
