The 1st/2nd December saw the first BCRC Medical weekend. Underground medics and advanced first aiders from Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Wales, the Mendips and Ireland met to discuss and develop the best casualty care for injured cavers.
There was extensive discussion of challenging areas, as well as a chance to see what equipment and techniques other teams are using.
On the Sunday, the group went underground to trial new kit in a realistic environment. Everyone involved found it extremely useful, with the outcomes to be disseminated to all the BCRC teams. Hopefully this will become a regular event.
