Over the weekend of 27th-28th April teams from across the UK and Ireland gathered for the British Cave Rescue Council AGM.
Saturday the 27th saw a day of collaboration, skills, information sharing and social activity. This included an outdoor session looking at the new Abtech Safety Slix stretcher and the PETZL Nest rescue stretcher. Team members were able to test the hauling and casualty packaging skills need with the aid of the tower at Buxton Fire Station.
The weekend was concluded on Sunday by the AGM. Most of the officers continued in post for another year. Although Roger King stepped down as Treasurer and was replaced by John Sheehy. Gavin Stewart of COMRU was voted into the Training Co-ordinator post, as Jim Davies (who has done this for a number of years) relinquished the role.
