British Cave Rescue Council officers and teams expressed appreciation to Jim Davis for 32 years continuous service as Training Officer and Executive Committee member of the BCRC, up to the BCRC AGM convened on Sunday 28 April 2024, when Jim stepped down.

Jim’s tireless contribution to the administration of training grants for teams, facilitation of training events and team peer review was celebrated during the ResCon24, Nenthead training conference, hosted by COMRU over the weekend of 7-9 June 2024. That was all in addition to Jim’s active and continuing role within his ‘home’ cave rescue team, Cave Rescue Organisation.

To mark the occasion, BCRC Chairman, Peter Dennis, presented Jim with a Distinguished Service Award certificate and cave rescuers attending the conference and representing most of the BCRC teams, assembled with Jim beside Nenthead Village Hall to record the occasion.
