Underground Rescue & Minimal Impact Caving Guidelines
During an emergency the first priorities of any rescue team have to be the preservation of life, the relief of suffering and the safety of all involved.
All members of cave rescue teams are experienced and responsible cavers as well as being cave rescuers. Hence, on any trip underground, they are well aware of the potential to cause damage and the importance of conservation. On any search, rescue or training exercise, team members will always do their very best to avoid causing damage and also to deter any others present from doing so.
The BCRC encourages adherence to the Minimal Impact Caving Guidelines of the British Caving Association wherever operationally possible.
